Helping Neighbours

Near and Far

Local Support

Local Support

Kenmore Uniting Church offers personal, prayer, and financial support to the Chaplains at Kenmore State High School. We also collect and distribute hampers to support families in need via a Women’s Refuge, and occasionally through special ministries such as Prison Ministry, Indigenous Ministries, and the Micah Project at West End.  These hampers include non-perishable food, toiletries, linen, blankets, and thoughtful gifts for all ages. Every contribution helps bring comfort and joy to someone in our community.  You can make a difference—drop off your items at the Refreshed Shop or contact us to learn more.

Australian Support

Australian Support

We also raise funds for projects in other parts of Australia, such as Uniting Church Frontier Services, which provides practical and pastoral support to people living in remote and regional Australia. We also support various Indigenous projects, including the Indigenous Literacy Foundation and supporting volunteers in constructing a new Church building and Community Centre and garden in Oodnadatta.

Overseas Support

Overseas Support

Kenmore Uniting Church actively supports a range of overseas projects through trusted organisations. We partner with UnitingWorld the international aid and partnerships agency of the Uniting Church in Australia, which works alongside global churches to address poverty, injustice, and environmental challenges. Recent projects we’ve supported include initiatives in Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, and Indonesia.  We are also long-time supporters of the Christmas Bowl and the Uniting Church’s LentEvent, both of which raise vital funds for international aid and development.  In addition, we support Destiny Rescue, a Christian non-profit organisation dedicated to rescuing children from human trafficking and sexual exploitation, and helping them build safe, empowered futures.  From time to time, we provide one-off support to other missions and projects. Half of the income from our Refreshed Shop goes toward these initiatives, alongside direct gifts from our members to the projects and appeals mentioned above.
