the refreshed shop
the refreshed shop

The Refreshed Shop, located within Kenmore Uniting Church, is open Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 12:30pm.  We’re passionate about reducing waste and giving new life to clothing, accessories, and household items. Items that are surplus or unsuitable for sale are passed on to organisations such as Lifeline, the Salvation Army, Vinnies, and others, depending on current needs.

We also work with individuals and community groups to distribute donations to people in crisis situations, and have strong ties with a Women’s Refuge to support women experiencing domestic violence.  The shop is run entirely by volunteers from both the church and the wider community, who generously offer their time and a listening ear to those who visit. We’re deeply grateful for their contribution to this meaningful outreach.

Through the shop, we support Kenmore State High School’s chaplaincy program, along with other local, national, and international mission initiatives.  Whether you're looking to shop, donate, or volunteer—we’d love to welcome you.

women's fellowship
women's fellowship

Women's Fellowship holds a meeting on the second Monday of each month at 12.30pm. The group brings together women from this church and others for devotions, fellowship and mutual support.  We enjoy sharing time together.  This group have been coming together in various ways for several decades. Currently we enjoy alternating meetings with lunch in the Community Centre one month, then lunch at a local café the following month.  Occasionally we will have a guest speaker or try a craft or fun activity.

Women’s Fellowship also assists with Church activities including the supply of the flower arrangement at the front door of the Church each Sunday, catering for events such as our ‘Cool & Classic’ Concerts, serving tea and coffee at funerals when required and providing a card ministry for the congregation. Women’s Fellowship members also represent our Church on the organising committee of the annual ecumenical World Day of Prayer in our area.   You are very welcome to join us!

touchstones

The vision of Touchstones is to provide a safe, grace-filled and creative environment that fosters the possibility of renewal and growth.   We open with a prayer based on Ignatian Spirituality which focuses on finding God in all things.  This is followed by discussion, and we then move on to a visual arts project, either individual or work as a group.

We often add visual aspects to the sanctuary to reinforce the Word of God.    We meet on Thursday afternoons at 1:30PM for about two hours and have an enjoyable time in a very supportive environment. No art experience is necessary!   A picture paints a thousand words….   This group is perfect for taking time out of a busy week to rest and recharge your creative spiritual batteries.

The Men’s Lunch
The Men’s Lunch

The Men’s Lunch meets monthly at OneTable Café in Kenmore, offering good food, great coffee, and even better conversation. It’s a relaxed space where blokes can catch up, share stories, and maybe even solve a few of the world’s problems over lunch.

Open to all men who want to get out, connect, and build lasting friendships, the Men’s Lunch is about companionship and support—mates being there for each other through life’s ups and downs.  The focus is on good company and light-hearted conversation—a refreshing break from the busyness of life, with no pressure to dive into politics or other deep debates.

Bookings are essential. Contact the Church office for more information.

Quiltabouts
Quiltabouts

Quiltabouts meets every Monday at 10:00am in the Kenmore Uniting Church Community Centre.  While quilting is at the heart of the group, it’s not the only creative thread! Members bring along their sewing, knitting, crochet, cross-stitch, or other handcraft projects and enjoy a relaxed morning of creativity and conversation.  Morning tea is a much-loved part of the gathering and a lovely way to begin the day.  Quiltabouts also contributes generously to the life of the church.

The group has created beautiful handmade items for raffles and events, including quilts featured at our ArtBurst Creative Fairs.  Funds raised through craft stalls and sales support the church’s mission fund.  Whether you're an experienced crafter or just looking for a welcoming space to create and connect, we’d love to welcome new members to join us.

Music Lovers
Music Lovers

Music Lovers at Kenmore is a monthly outreach of Kenmore Uniting Church, bringing people together to enjoy the gift of live music in a relaxed and welcoming setting. It’s a space where community members can connect through music, and where musicians—both emerging and experienced—can share their talents.

As a church community, we believe that music is a gift from God, meant to be shared and celebrated. Each session concludes with a brief blessing from our Minister, affirming the joy and connection that music brings.  We meet on the third Thursday of each month, from March to November, 10:00–11:30am. Admission is $10, which includes a light morning tea.

All are welcome.

The Mah Jong Group
The Mah Jong Group

The Mah Jong Group meets every Friday from 10:00am to 12 noon in the Kenmore Uniting Church Community Centre.  We’re a friendly and inclusive group from the local community who come together in a comfortable air-conditioned room to enjoy a relaxed, pleasant morning of Mah Jong, conversation, and connection.

Each participant contributes $5, and those who wish are welcome to start the morning with a cup of tea or coffee.   Mah Jong donates to the mission activities of the church.

If you would like to participate in this friendly group, you’re warmly invited to join us.

Cool & Classic Concerts
Cool & Classic Concerts

Since 2010, Cool & Classic Concerts have brought high-quality live music to the western suburbs of Brisbane. Held three times a year at Kenmore Uniting Church, this concert series features a unique blend of jazz, classical, and something a little different—all performed by quality musicians in an intimate, welcoming setting.  What makes these concerts special is the connection between performers and audience.

Musicians share stories and insights during the performance, and afterwards, everyone is invited to enjoy afternoon tea together in the Community Centre.  These events offer a wonderful opportunity to enjoy live music close to home, without the need to travel into the city. We’re proud to make our concerts accessible and family-friendly, with wheelchair access available throughout the venue.

Whether you're a seasoned concertgoer or simply curious, we’d love to welcome you to our next event.
